The Local Notice to Mariners, Light List, and Summary of Corrections are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and viewing them requires a PDF reader.  PDF readers are readily available on the internet, generally free of charge.

  • Right click for PC / Control click for Mac.
  • Choose “Save Target As”.
  • Save the PDF to your computer and open using your PDF reader.

6/13/2018: Recording of Subchapter M webinar available online

Coast Guard members from the Office of Commercial Vessel Compliance were recently invited to participate in an American Waterways Operators webinar aimed at helping towing vessel owners and operators better understand the process of obtaining Certificates of Inspection under Subchapter M regulations. Cmdr. Jennifer Hnatow and Mr. Erik Johnson, both from the Domestic Vessel Compliance Division, were on hand to address AWO members’ questions about compliance, enforcement, and the certification process.

6/13/2018: Updated Notice of Arrival/Departure workbooks released

Notices of Arrival/Departure Workbook Version 7.5.1 and Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Notice of Arrival Workbook 1.5.1 are now available on NVMC’s. These updated versions provide corrections for the display of ports when the country of Georgia is selected. The official XLS workbooks are provided as a non XML venue for submissions of Notices of Arrival/Departure to the National Vessel Movement Center.

6/8/2018: Marine Transportation System cyber awareness webinar – recording available online

Throughout the month of May, the Coast Guard’s Office of Port and Facility Compliance, in coordination with ABS Group, provided four opportunities for Area Maritime Security Committee members to participate in “Marine Transportation System Cyber Awareness Training” via webinar. Over 200 AMSC members and port stakeholders participated in the sessions. In consideration of those who were not able to participate, the Coast Guard has made a recording of the training that is now available online.

6/7/2018: Summary of National Alternative Security Program sponsoring organizations workshop

The semi-annual workshop was hosted at the offices of the American Chemistry Council. Attendees came from as far away as Seattle and New Orleans and represented 11 industry organizations that oversee thousands of MTSA-regulated vessels and over two hundred MTSA-regulated facilities that share common business models. Industries represented include passenger, ferry and gaming vessels, offshore service and towing vessels, chemical and barge fleeting facilities, and grain terminals.
