Maritime Consulting has compiled an experienced staff that have decades of experience working domestically, and internationally, in the maritime, safety and security fields.

Sean Stokes

Master Mariner serving aboard Offshore Supply Vessels; Survey Vessels; Research Vessels; Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair Vessels; and Deepwater Construction Vessels. He has worked with ROV’s, AUV’s, surface divers, saturation divers, WASP and manned submarines.

Captain Stokes has served as Master of vessels ranging in size from 145 feet to 350 feet in length. These vessels have varied from four-point-mooring systems to Dynamic Positioning (DP) Class 1 and Class 2 vessels. He proficiently operate Nautronix, L3, Converteam and Kongsberg DP Systems

As a USCG/State of Louisiana certified instructor in Marine Operations, he has taught at the Louisiana Marine and Petroleum Institute and also has Train-the-Trainer certification in Vessel Security.

Captain Stokes possesses an extensive knowledge in CFRs (33, 46 & 49 specifically), CMIDs, OVIDs and Regulatory inspections/requirements (USCG, DNV, ABS). Have developed/implemented Safety Management Systems, Vessel Security Plans, Permit-to-Work Processes, Food Safety Manual (HACCP), Risk Management programs and much more. Also, he has served as an Expert Witness, and consultant, in several Maritime related court cases.

Currently, Captain Stokes holds a valid USCG Unlimited Masters (Oceans) license, 1,600/3,000 GT Master (Oceans) license, 10,000 (OSV) Masters and Mate (OSV) with all documentation/certification associated with that position (GMDSS, ARPA, Celestial, ECDIS, Medical Care Provider/Person In Charge, etc.); including Dynamic Positioning Officer Unlimited certificate. As well, his license is endorsed with Able-Bodied Seaman (Unlimited), and Knuckle Boom Crane Operator.


Ricardo Buenrostro, Jr.

Buenrostro is Certified Crane Operator (hydraulic pedestal, knuckle boom), as well as an Able Bodied Seaman (Unlimited). He has been working in the maritime industry since 2002 and as a heavy lift crane operator since 2005. Locations working include Inspection, Maintenance and Repair Vessels; Deepwater Construction Vessels; Drill Ships and Derrick Barges.

Currently, Buenrostro holds a valid USCG Able Seafarer – Deck (Unlimited), Lifeboatman, and is certified as an API RP2D Qualified Offshore Hydraulic Knuckle and Lattice Boom Pedestal Crane Operator and Rigger.


Michael Worrell

Chief Engineer Worrell began working in the maritime industry in early 2001. He has worked his way up the ranks aboard Surface and Saturation Diving Vessels. These vessels have ranged from 4,000 to 5,800 horsepower power plants.

Currently, Worrell holds a valid USCG Chief Engineer (OSV < 3000 GT of any horsepower), Designated Duty Engineer (of motor vessels of any horsepower), Assistant Engineer (Limited-Oceans, not more than 8,000 HP), Any Unlicensed Engine Rating and Lifeboatman.
