Rear Adm. John Nadeau, assistant commandant for prevention policy, attended Connecticut Maritime Association’s Shipping 2019 Conference in Stamford this week. Nadeau gave keynote remarks on the upcoming IMO 2020 global cap and also discussed various other initiatives the Coast Guard addressed in 2018. In this post, we are sharing the portion of Nadeau’s remarks on IMO 2020 for the benefit of our readers unable to attend. We will publish the remainder of his remarks in a separate post.
