Safety Zone; Maumee River, Toledo OH

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for all navigable waters of the Maumee River within a 150-yard radius of the Toledo Country Club in Toledo, OH. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards during a fireworks event. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Detroit (COTP).

Safety Zone; New York Harbor, Upper Bay, Jersey City, NJ

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters of the Upper Bay in New York Harbor in the vicinity of Ellis Island and Liberty Island, NJ. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by law enforcement vessels operating at high speed while participating in a security training exercise occurring in this area. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector New York.

Drawbridge Operation Regulation; Canaveral Barge Canal, Port Canaveral, FL

The Coast Guard is temporarily changing the operating schedule that governs the SR 401 Drawbridges across the Canaveral Barge Canal, mile 5.5, at Port Canaveral, FL. This action is necessary to allow the bridge owner to complete the rehabilitation of the bridges. We invite your comments on this temporary interim rule.

Security Zone; Lower Mississippi River, Mile Marker 96.8 to 97.5 Above Head of Passes, New Orleans, LA-Gretna Heritage Festival

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary security zone for all navigable waters within 350 yards of the right descending Bank (RDB) of the Lower Mississippi River (LMR) Mile Marker (MM) 96.8 to MM 97.5, Above Head of Passes (AHP), New Orleans, LA. This security zone is necessary to provide security and protection for events taking place on or adjacent to the LMR for Gretna Heritage Festival. No person or vessel may enter this security zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, New Orleans (COTP) or a designated representative.

Safety Zone; Bridgeport Harbor, Bridgeport, CT

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for the navigable waters of Bridgeport Harbor in the vicinity of the Bridgeport Harbor Station power plant demolition project site. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by using explosives for the demolition process of three coal-fired power plant boilers. When enforced, entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Long, Island Sound or a designated representative.

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters of the Chesapeake Bay within 500 yards of the M/V W- SAPPHIRE. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by the presence of explosive cargo on board the vessel. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Maryland-National Capital Region (NCR) (COTP), or a designated representative.

Security Zone; Electric Boat Shipyard, Narragansett Bay, Quonset Point, North Kingstown, RI

The Coast Guard is establishing a security zone in the waters adjacent to the General Dynamics Electric Boat Corporation Quonset Point facility in Narragansett Bay, North Kingstown, RI. This is necessary to protect the facility, material, and adjacent areas from sabotage or other subversive acts, accidents or incidents of a similar nature. This rulemaking prohibits all persons and vessels from operating within the prescribed security zone without prior authorization by the Captain of the Port, Sector Southeastern New England or designated representative.

Safety Zone; Gulf of America; Sand Key Beach, Clearwater, FL

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for certain waters of Sand Key Beach, during the Clearwater AquaX Grand Prix event. This action is necessary to provide for the safety of life on these navigable waters near Clearwater, FL, during a high-speed jet ski race. This rule prohibits persons and vessels from being in the safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Sector St. Petersburg or a designated representative.
